Alex (with help from Derek) spent a lot of time building his Pinewood Derby car over the last couple of weeks. The competition was last Thursday, and Alex's speedy hot rod won the 2nd place overall award.
Way to go, Alex!

The pre-race weigh-in of the cars.
Alex and Derek eagerly anticipated the first race.
Just had to share this one today. Isn't he the cutest little ringbearer you ever saw? He was so well-behaved, too. I loved watching all his cute expressions all through the ceremony at Tyler and Mykelle's wedding.
Here are some shots from the 2011 BYU Indoor Track Invitational last Saturday. Parker was coming off a recent hip injury, so he was very nervous about how he would do. I was nervous he was going to re-injure himself. But he did fine and remains injury free. He ran in the 2-mile and 1-mile races. It's really hard to get good shots at this venue because you can only see the runners for brief seconds as they run past. But here are a few.
I simply love photographing the kids when they're on their way to the school dances. For the BHS Christmas Dance -- appropriately named "Snowball", I did pictures for 39 couples. It was great fun! My trusty assistant and husband, Derek, helped everything run smoothly. I was a little stressed, since Parker was going in a group that included 24 (YIKES) couples! Yeah, that group shot was a little challenging. Should have brought a megaphone, but in the end, I think the shots turned out great. Of course it helps when you have good-looking kids to work with.
