But...... I also have some ultra-exciting news to share! My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary yesterday! I can't believe how quickly the years have flown by. Here we are... four children, numerous cars, four apartments, one condo, three houses, four cities, one cockatiel, a handful of short-lived goldfish, several California vacations, gallons (well, maybe not gallons, but lots of) children's Motrin, too many diapers to count, tons of laughs and more love than I can fathom.... later. It's been quite a ride! I look forward to the next 20...and the next...etc.!
Let me just tell you a little about my wonderful husband. I've never met anyone who is more hard-working, honest and full of integrity. He's sensitive, kind and my best friend. I am truly blessed.
My shots today are of a rose from the dozen I received for our anniversary yesterday. I took it outside and put it on the snow-covered patio table. The first shot is with some tweaks in RAW, and on the second I ran Jess' Acid Wash action.
Thanks for looking!

Happy Anniversary! 20 years is quite an accomplishment. I like your rose. It's so rich in color.
Happy Anniversary! Your roses are beautiful.
Congrats on 20 years! Beautiful rose...
Happy anniversary, great journaling and I love the rose photo! BUT, I also just scrolled through a few days of your other photos and am DUMBFOUNDED (if that's still a word)! Your photos are fantastic! Just goes to show that "feeling" doesn't create reality, because your photos are not mediocre by a long-shot.
Very cool!
congratulations! I'm just a few years behind you. As for the photography advice... when I was doing my blog last year, there were SO many times when I'd complain to my husband that I wanted to quit, and I hated my pictures, and if I didn't get a good picture sometime soon I wasn't gonna do it anymore, etc (I promised my husband I would stick to the picture a day for the year, which is why I felt like I needed his permission to quit), and anyway he'd always encourage me so I'd keep going, and I found that if I just kept shooting I would come through the slump and learn something new in the process. So my advice is take a break, for sure, so you don't hate it, but don't give up completely.
Think of all the great pictures you haven't taken yet!
happy anniversary!!!
The snow is the perfect backdrop to show off the rose. The colors really pop and seem so true to what they should be. Great job!
i really like the photos...very pretty.
