My 19-year-old neighbor plays the bagpipes. He's been playing since he was in 6th grade. I'm glad spring is coming because when it's warm outside, he plays out on the deck and I can hear them better. I love bagpipe music....even though it makes me kind of sad for some reason. The bagpipes have a very melancholy sound.I just want to thank all of you who have left such kind, supportive posts regarding my NILMDTS photos. Those mean so much to me. You're all so kind.:)

Awesome shots! I love the first one with the bright colored wall behind the black of the bagpipe. The second one is so neat with the focus on the instrument and his face blurred, but just enough in focus.

Beautiful photos, Meg! I've never known anyone personally who played bagpipes. If you want to hear some not so melancholy bagpipe music, check out a band called the Dropkick Murphys.
I love bagpipes, too! There's just something about the sound that stirs me. LOVE the second shot and focus on that.
I'm with you I love the bagpipes too. And I love that they seem to be coming a popular instrument with the youth. Great shots.
