All Aboard!

I met up with some of the Utah Peas (my photography friends) today at Union Station in Ogden. The kids had fun playing in and around the trains and running around inside the station. I wasn't too thrilled with my shots today..but here are a few.

Tell Me What You Think

In yesterday's post, I had a picture of Baby Trevor on the end of the bed with his mom and dad in the background. Going through the shots some more today, I came across this one and think I like it better. Mom looks happier, but their heads are cut off a little bit.

What do you think? And what do you think of the pose in general? Just so you know, Mom and Dad weren't planning to be in the pictures. The patterns on their clothes are a little bit busy, but I still like the idea of this shot. How about you? I think if I were to do it over, I may have placed the baby on his side instead of the way he is.

Please give me CC. I can take it!

Baby Trevor

Little Trevor -- just seven days old -- was a delightful little model today. My friend Janae invited me to come to this photo shoot with her. Trevor hardly made a whimper throughout the whole thing. He put up with a lot from us! So did his parents...moving furniture, listening to my stomach growling, etc.!

Thanks again, Janae. I think we make a great team! And thanks Matt and Holly for letting me be a part of Trevor's first photo shoot. You guys were great!

Botanical Garden

I took my Cub Scout den to the botanical garden today. We had a tour of the greenhouse and the teaching garden. It was so beautiful there. The boys loved looking at all the plants and had lots of questions for the greenhouse director. As you can see from the last picture, Alex loved the Lamb's Ear plant. I'd never seen a plant like that before. It was amazing how soft and velvety it was. Pat, if you're reading this, I thought of you when I was there. You would love it!

Playing With Macro

I still am trying to become better friends with my macro lens. I wanted to take pictures of flowers to be on theme today, but my yard is quite limited in that department. I thought about going to the neighbor's but was too lazy to put on my invisibility cloak. :)

So, here are a couple of shots. This purple flower is just a teeny little thing with petals about as big as my pinky finger.

The white ones are from a beautiful blooming bush in my backyard.

Thanks for looking!

MTC with Grandma and Grandpa

Derek's parents reported to the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah today. They will spend a week there, and then fly out next Monday to begin their 18-month missionary service in the West Indies. We picked them up at the Salt Lake airport today and took them to Provo. We are so grateful for their wonderful examples of selfless service. They just returned last August from an 18-month mission to Tonga. We will miss them while they are away, but know they and we will be so blessed in their absence.

This is the place. I was a little emotional going there today, knowing that in just a few months, we will be dropping Nate off there for his mission. His papers are in and he could receive his call as early as a week from Wednesday. I'll keep you posted!

Taking the luggage to their new living quarters.

I love this shot! They look so happy!

And off they go... with a promise to obey all the mission rules and to work hard to get along with their companions -- each other.:)

Baby C.J.

What fun! I was able to photograph another baby! Yea! This is C.J. He is our newest neighbor. What a cutie. He was born 6 1/2 weeks early. Today was his due date, but he was born on April 1. (No fooling!
