Winter....Again!

Okay, so I guess today is the start of the new theme... if you consider today the 14th, but I'm really considering it the 13th because it really is the 13th.. but we all post our photos for the next day the night before...So, I'm not really sure what day it is, what theme I'm supposed to be following or anything. LOL! But here's what I'm going to do. I am going to follow a theme (well, usually) from Monday through Sunday. Then the post I make Monday (which is really Tuesday's post, according to twopeas...) will begin the new week! Is everyone as confused as me?:) If you've hung in there with me this long... Here's my post. Last day of the focus theme. (For me anyway.) :)

Here's another red shovel shot. I zoomed in closer on this one, and hopefully adjusted the white balance better so the snow looks white. It's still not perfect, but it's a bit better. Maybe by the end of winter I'll figure out how to make snow look white!!

Gotta love those winter sunsets. This is taken from my front yard.

The red really pops against the white snow!

LOVE the sunset photo. I just don't seem to see any sunsets like that in NJ.

You've got such great colors, both in the shovel and the sunset! I really like your composition on the shovel, but the snow still seems off (maybe a little gray and a little blue--it's different in different parts of the photo). Don't get me wrong, it's still an awesome shot!

Meg--I really like this new shot of the shovel. The angle/diagonal across the frame creates a lot of interesting tension. And, of course the color rocks. That sunset is phenomenal. You even caught the "rays".

Beautiful pictures, love the red and wide and closer up of the shovel. The sunset is just beautiful. So nice to see that sun in the winter time. Great job.

Snow is tough. IF you want to do a little work afterwards, you can desaturate the cyan color and then, erase back in...that would take out a bit of that blue. Again though, snow is just a bear to make right. I like the red on that shovel and wow....that second shot is really cool looking with those warm colors.

Snow shots are hard, I have a difficult time with them too. The white balance never seems just right. I guess I need to start using a wb card, maybe that would help. Nice job with that sunset, it is a beauty.

Beautiful sunset shot, and I wish I could get my snow to look that white. If you ever find out the secret to good white, defined snow please let me know. :)
