Timmmmmberrrrrr

We had some trees in our backyard that were encroaching on the overhead power lines, so some city lumberjacks came to remove them today. One was a HUGE pine tree. Here's a shot of it when most of the branches had been cut off, but the trunk was still there. I guess you can't be afraid of heights to do this job.
My other shots are of Alex, posing for me on the pile of wood that was left behind today. The deal is, the city cuts down the tree for free, shreds the branches in the big shredding machine, but leaves the trunk. My kids love the trunk pieces. They think they'll make great posing props for my photography. (Scary how my children's minds work like that, isn't it?) My daughter also thinks it would be great to have one of them in her room as a side table. I'm not sure how she thinks she'll be able to lug it into the house, but I'm not one to stifle her creativity in decorating!
I'm not really sure why Alex's hair has a blue cast to it in this first shot. HMMMM.

great shots! That is a big tree! It is fun to see the ideas kids get when they get new stuff around the house to play with.

That is a crazy job I could not do. I actually like the blue cast (but I like funky stuff). He's a cute boy. Maybe your dd will be an interior decorator when she grows up.

i agree with both! a side table and a prop...you see, you can run out of creativity but you'll always have 'back-up' with the kids around...isn't that a sweet deal?
loved that last shot of your ds...he looks angelic!
tfs!

Wow what a cutie!

Our power company has the same policy. We had 3 trees removed and it took so many trips to the yard waste recycling facility to get rid of them.

The photos are spectacular! The next to last one is the best IMHO.

Watch out for the sap on those pine trees. ;)

I love the way the tree looks with the branches missing as he progresses up the tree--definitely not a job I could do. Alex looks so handsome.

Wow!, I love your top and last photos! Kids! They can come up with the best rationalizations for keeping stuff. . . .for You, of course!

Ah, there's a photo op in just about everything! Your DS is so cute---and I love your DD's idea! Clever girl! Just make sure that if you use a round, you put something underneath it so the sap doesn't get all over the place---or better yet, wait 6 mos. until it dries.
