Botanical Garden

I took my Cub Scout den to the botanical garden today. We had a tour of the greenhouse and the teaching garden. It was so beautiful there. The boys loved looking at all the plants and had lots of questions for the greenhouse director. As you can see from the last picture, Alex loved the Lamb's Ear plant. I'd never seen a plant like that before. It was amazing how soft and velvety it was. Pat, if you're reading this, I thought of you when I was there. You would love it!

I love that first flower. It's so funky, it almost looks alien, doesn't it?

How fun. Was this Red Butte Garden? Travis and I have been there. It was a lot of fun. My Mom has oodles of that lambs ear growing in her flower beds. It is a fun and fuzzy plant.

Such beautiful flowers! I do have to say though, after being Cub Commitee chair, Cubmaster and a Den leader in the past five years I am happily on hiatus from Cubs!!!

Margaret, what a great place!! I WOULD love it. You've done a great job getting the details and the different colors and shapes. I had Lamb's Ear in my garden when the kids were little; they called it the Petting Plant.

Wow, what an amazing place! That last shot is too sweet, him hugging the plant like that! Those things ARE really soft and fuzzy though, I always have to rub my fingers on them when I see them too, I can't help myself! So I totally understand, lol!

These are so pretty! That last shot is so sweet and I know how soft those are as I usually get some in my yard, just not yet! :)
