Playing With Macro

I still am trying to become better friends with my macro lens. I wanted to take pictures of flowers to be on theme today, but my yard is quite limited in that department. I thought about going to the neighbor's but was too lazy to put on my invisibility cloak. :)

So, here are a couple of shots. This purple flower is just a teeny little thing with petals about as big as my pinky finger.

The white ones are from a beautiful blooming bush in my backyard.

Thanks for looking!

I love your DOF, highlighting the blossoms against a dark background. ML

I like that black space in the last shot. I with macros a lot of it depends on the backgrounds, so keeping it nice and simple is great.

Man, nice work Margaret! Great job on the color, and the comp and DOF on the last of the purples is wonderful--great focus on the stamens. Nice work!!!

I love knowing how big things are in real life when I see macro photos so thank you. :-) Beautiful colors and composition. I have a harder time with my macro lens outside--just a tiny bit of wind can throw off focus so much.
