Flowers...and a Farewell

It was a beautiful day for flower shots, so I had to do some....even though last week's theme was flowers. Oh well! My neighbor has beautiful flowers, so I took most of these at her house. We have one poppy that bloomed at our house...someone planted it long before I lived here!

And, today we took Derek's parents to the airport and bid farewell for 18 months as they headed off to serve their mission in the West Indies. For those of you who saw my post last week when we dropped them off at the MTC...well, that looked like goodbye, didn't it? Well, it turns we were able to have them stay at our house last night and then take them to the airport today. It was sad to see them go. Ouch. My heart is hurting tonight... But we know they are doing the right thing. We're so glad e-mail, blogs and Skype will help us keep in touch!!!

And FYI.... Nate's mission call is scheduled to arrive this WEDNESDAY!!!!! Stay tuned!

I was confused- gald you clarified that you posted the "same" goodbye last week.
So sad to say goodbye twice. It helps to know they are on a noble trip.

Margaret, sometimes I think those double goodbyes are the hardest. I am so glad we were too far from Utah to see DS off at the airport and rip the emotional scab off... LOVE LOVE the poppy center! Phenomenal detail there. Nice garden your neighbor has, too.
