It's a pretty common occurrence to see quails in our neighborhood. And this time of year, we're often lucky to spot a whole family of them...Dad and Mom with little babies running along behind them. Yesterday we saw a bunch of them in our backyard, but they scurry away so fast, I didn't have time to grab my camera. Today, my kids alerted me that the quails were back. I grabbed the camera and got a few shots before they ran off. Later, we saw them again out front. I couldn't get any of the babies -- they were hiding under the bush -- but Daddy Quail was up on my neighbor's roof chirping at anyone who came near.
Please ignore the weeds in a very neglected corner of my yard! :)

They are interesting animals aren't they? Great capture.
Very cool. I don't think I've ever seen one in the wild
Oh, how exciting! I love quail and that little "dingle-feather" on the top of their heads. It looks like even the chicks have one starting.

Wow! Quails just wandering a neighborhood! What a fun think to stalk!
I don't think I have ever seen a quail. I love the dad guarding them all.
I love quails! The babies are hardly bigger than a bumblebee when they are born, but they sure can run fast! Cute photos!
