Pretty in Pink

We have this tree in our front yard. I don't know what kind it is, but it gets beautiful pink blossoms on it every spring. It was a little late blooming this year. I guess it didn't like our chilly, rainy spring. But about a week or so ago, it bloomed. I went out today to get some shots. I wish the blossoms lasted longer. They'll probably only be on the tree a week or so longer.

My neighbor was out planting flowers in her yard as I was doing the pictures. She commented that I don't seem to have the same love of flowers as she and our neighbor across the street do. It's true, I'm afraid. I have no talent for growing anything...except weeds. I told her I prefer to receive flowers that are cut, in a vase and that I only have to love and take care of for a short time. I'm no good at flowers that require a long-term commitment!

Anyway...I took these with my macro lens. I wish I was better at macros. My macro lens and I are okay friends, but not the best of friends! It's probably just jealous of all the time I spend with my 24-70 and 70-200!

Those are lovely! We have them all over the place here, I believe they are cherry blossom trees.

Beautiful tree - looks like the one on the side of our house - don't know what it is either. Blooms hang almost like cherry blossoms - but it is not a cherry tree (per se). Great shots - and also loved your last post, didn't get a chance to comment!

The tree is a flowering Kwanzan Cherry tree. I used to not be able to grow anything in my yard either, but after 15 years of trying and learning, I am starting to learn and actually able to do some things!

I super love your blog and your photos!
