A Hero's Homecoming

I had the privilege of photographing the homecoming of some Utah troops coming home from Kuwait recently. What an emotional experience. We were able to go right to the gate to greet them. What fun it was to see these husbands and dads greet their wives and children.

Welcome Home!

Then, last week, I did portraits for one of these awesome families. Too much fun!!

I love the shot of the little boys silhoutted against the light, watching and waiting. How did you manage to take these shots without getting all teary? I can't watch the local TV coverage with tearing up, let alone try to take photos!!! These are wonderful!

Oh my goodness...I am totally tearing up right now. What an amazing thing to experience...what a gift to give this family...they will remember these emotions forever. And for you too, to be a witness to such an event.

Love all of them!

These are fantastic Margaret! And oh boy they sure brought back memories for me! It wasn't that long ago we welcomed our soldier home! I love how you put his jacket over his son in the family shots! I might have to use your idea with one of my sons. Fantastic as always!!
