District Spelling Bee

Alex competed in the district spelling bee the other night. He ended up making it to the third round, but then got out on the word "docility". I don't think I would have spelled that one right, either.

We are so proud of him. There were kids in 4th through 8th grades who qualified for district. He was one of only two 4th graders.

I think he's kind of relieved that now it's over.

Here are some shots from the bee.

I love 4 and 5 especially. And that black background really makes the kids the focus which is great. Congrats to Alex on a job well done!

Good for Alex - well done. I love the b/w on these - and the other kids' expression in the 2nd shot is too funny. I bet he is relieved - but what a super achievement.

He looks so cute up on the stage. He really looks like he's concentrating in the last one.

GOOD JOB ALEX!!!

As a spelling bee mom myself, I know how nerve-wracking it can be, for them and for us! Well done, BOTH of you!
