Aloha....Part 2

Grab some popcorn, Junior Mints and a large soda. (Careful not to spill in the keyboard, though). It's time for Day 2 of the D&M Evans Holiday in Hawaii.
We started the day with a drive to Laie and a visit to the Hawaii Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Absolutely stunning beauty. I was excited to see a lot of flowers just waiting to be photographed. My only complaint was that it was windy... not the best conditions for macro photography, but I tried!

Oh, aren't we so cute?:)

I think this is the friendliest plant on the island. It's saying 'Aloha' to us!

While Derek was grabbing us some smoothies from the smoothie truck. (Yes we brake for shrimp trucks, smoothie trucks...any kind of food trucks), I decided to take some pictures of our rental car. Like my reflection?

Here are some cool surfer dudes near Makapuu Point catching some waves. Derek's the one on the left. (Just kidding. He was actually patiently waiting in the car while I took some surf shots.)

We hiked up to Makapuu Point. A little bit of a strenuous hike -- and I was still wearing my skirt from our trip to the temple. A few people gave me weird looks like I wasn't wearing the proper hiking attire. Oh well. It was worth it to get to the top for the marvelous view. And I LOVE lighthouses!

And finally... dusk falls over Makapuu Point. Can't you just feel the ocean breeze from here? It was a wonderful day. I looked a little scary after riding around all day in a convertible with the top down, but it was great fun!

ALOHA! Welcome home. You've got some gorgeous photos and I'm sure some happy memories! Don't wait 20 more years for another trip to tropical paradise! Looks like you didn't need those tulips after all!

I feel like I've gotten to tag along on your Hawaii adventure! Someday I want to go for real. That aloha flower is cool; what's the deal with that?
